Project Description:Cambodia has been going on the democracy since 1993 with the first national election and after that leading to the election of national assembly 1998 and 2003, first commune election 2002 and first election for senate 2006. The freedom of expression, human rights and social development has become key points for all to take into consideration. Different points of views among civil society groups, political leaders and Cambodian people, particularly among the youth and women, have increased, more or less, and spread out to the public despite of some constraints. The rights of expression is just more focused on the verbal communication rather than written, even through the printed media. The development of information technology today has become interesting among Cambodians, particularly the young, both men and women, and used to interact and communicate each other in their real life. In particular case, blog debate, a part of information technology growing in Cambodia’s society currently, through websites is more and more popular. Open Forum of Cambodia, a leading NGO specialized in information technology and website management, is to play necessary roles in promoting and strengthening people’s share of ideas and expression in democracy process through the blog training and debate.
Blog Training’s Purpose: - How to create blog
- How to write content
- How to use Khmer language (Khmer Unicode)
Activities:- Conduct blog training for Cambodian people such students, NGO workers, government officials, journalists in Phnom Penn and other provinces such as Kompong Cham, Battambang, Sihanoukville.
- Conduct training for trainers to have multiplier effect on number of Cambodian bloggers nationwide.
